Snail theory
Snail theory begins with an imposition: slowness is not the opposite of progress.
The snail carries its house. It is vulnerable, but not homeless. It moves without noise, without posing and without the hysterical speed of a world that constantly confuses pace with meaning.
Whoever takes their house with them is not fleeing. They remain connected with what protects them. But they decide for themselves when to come out.
Perhaps freedom does not consist in leaving one’s snail shell. Perhaps it consists in deciding for oneself when to come out of it.
The snail is therefore not a symbol of withdrawal. It is a symbol of careful movement, patience, one’s own time and the art of not following every rhythm imposed from outside.
In an age that often confuses speed with meaning, a snail is almost a provocation. A very slow one, naturally. But that is precisely why it can arrive.
